Location

* After leaving the airport, turn right on Highway 19, which will merge into Highway 11 at Palani Road. Continue on about 2 more miles south past the town of Kailua-Kona, and watch for a green reflective sign on the right that says Holualoa 3 Miles. Turn left at that intersection and go up the hill. (There is no stoplight, only a left turn lane). The name of our road is Hualalai Road but kids have stolen the Hualalai Road. signs.

1.5 miles up this windy road, you will see 10 MPH signs on the right to slow down for a very sharp horse shoe turn. Also look for the 4 round blue reflectors on a power pole. Our Inn is in the middle of the horse shoe curve on the right. There is a lighted lamp post and a sign above the mailbox, Hale Maluhia Bed & Breakfast . For our Maile, Pikaki, Makua and Malia Rooms please turn into this concrete driveway in the center of the curve and go clear to the end to the second garage door. The front door will be on the right, porch lights will be on.

Please ring the Queen Mary ships bell upon your arrival, we will be looking for you.

For our Banyan Cottage please continue on around and past this driveway, and look for the second mailbox that says "Banyan C". The number on the mailbox is 76-770 Hualalai Road. This is also visible at night. Turn right immediately into the Banyan Cottage parking area. The porch light will be on and the key will be in the door, you can go right in. We will be watching for you. If it is late, we will catch up with you in the morning. It is best to park with the back of the car to the Cottage for better vision in leaving.

Note: if you reach Lako Street on Highway 11, you have gone a little too far. Turn around and go north about a mile and look for the Holualoa 3 miles sign, and turn up the hill 1.5 miles and as above. Hualalai Road is 1 mile north of Lako Street.

* From Hilo: Proceed north toward Kona on Highway 11 from the Volcano, passing through 4 stop lights: Kamehameha III, Sea View, Lako Street, ?.

Look for the green Holualoa 3 miles sign, and turn right up the hill.

Maile Room, Cozy room with queen bed with private bath and entrance. This is an excellent room for covering business needs on a visit to the Big Island. Cable TV,DVD and RoadRunner wireless.

Pikaki Room, queen bed, kitchenette, working desk, private bath and entrance. This room also has a lovely lanai with table and chairs for dining overlooking our koi ponds. Cable TV, DVD and RoadRunner wireless

Jasmine Room, This a second story, attic/dormer room, in the style of Swiss Family Robinson. It is a large room 11' x 21' with a queen bed and a full bed with a full size working desk. Room for that second couple or the kids. The room has no party walls so is like a cottage and comes with Air Conditioning, Refrigerator, Microwave and a private bath and entrance. The room has cable TV, DVD and RoadRunner broadband wireless access. Very Private. (3rd or 4th person in the room: $25. ea. inc. breakfast) This room was specially Created for Ken's grand daughter Jasmine. Please note: If the second bed is used by a couple there will be an additional $15. housekeeping charge.

Makua Room, King bed, Room:12'x14', private bath with large ceramic double shower and Air Conditioning. Writing Desk viewing nut orchard. Cable TV, RoadRunner wireless

Malia Room, King bed, Room: 12'x16', Full bath with cast iron soaker tub, working desk and French door to flower garden area with chairs, table and a large umbrella. Cable TV, RoadRunner wireless

Banyan Cottage, Over 850 sq. ft., large spacious, rustic and very private cottage, w/kitchenette sleeps 2 to 5: Cal King bed, double tile shower, private Jacuzzi with jets, cable t.v. and private movie library, working desk area w/broadband and wireless access. A virtual tree house on the west with a charming lanai and old wooden porch swing and ocean views. Paved parking for two cars at the door on the east. Includes Full Breakfast Lover's Buffet. Breakfast Lovers Lanai Buffet with Bird Watching. Includes Hawaiian fruits of the season, pastries, fresh bread each morning, our own recipe and a do it yourself, Omelet Bar. Pure Kona grown Coffee or tea, milk and juice and Cereal Bar.

Facilities

Hale Maluhia Country Inn (house of peace) enjoys two common areas. One is a music room with a well tuned grand piano and large enough for about 25 people to enjoy and well furnished. The other common area we call the library and has a Guest Computer, Yamaha Piano with ear phones. A good Book and DVD Movie Library. Most of our books are Christian but the Movie Library is eclectic with something for everyone. The grounds are very special and have many places to sit and read a book with koi ponds and waterfalls. The Japanese hot tub is very special and custom deep so that a tall man can get his shoulders under the water. Made of tile and stone with massage jets. The near acre is covered with big shade trees for a very comfortable summer. The building were built to feel 100 years old by the owner/contractor to give the feeling of old Hawai'i with a soft touch of aloha along the road less traveled.

DEPOSITS:
Reservations require a one night minimum deposit or 50% of the total reservation, which ever is greater. The room or cottage is considered "sold" at that time.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Thirty days prior to arrival date we do allow for a full refund of the deposit less a 10% booking fee. Cancellations and deposit refunds within 30 days of arrival are subject to re-booking. Cancellations within 7 days of arrival date and "no-shows" will be charged in full unless re-booked. All cancellations are charged a 10% booking fee. Cancellations must be made in writing and have a management acknowledgment to be valid.
