Emeraldview Guesthouse sits atop a cliff overlooking the Wailuku River, just minutes by foot or by car to the restaurants and galleries of old downtown Hilo. The house has been newly renovated with verandas, a gazebo, and a foyer of Douglas Fir. Landscaping includes a palm garden, and orchid garden, and a Japanese rock garden with antique lantern. Emeraldview Guesthouse stives for ecological preservation, and uses a 'green' philosophy wherever possible in the lighting, the furnishings, and in energy use.

The Emeraldview Guesthouse captures the essence of your Hawaiian holiday escape: seclusion, romance,vistas of waterfalls, a rushing river, palms, a tropical rainforest, an inviting jacuzzi, and full breakfasts taken on your private veranda. Each of our two suites has its own granite and marble bath set with Bali riverstones underfoot. The owner's collection of Japanese antique tansu chests, porcelains, and the woodblock prints of Paul Jacoulet, complement the decor in the rooms, the foyer, the gazebo, and in the orchid garden. Location

South Hilo, within 10 minutes by car from downtown Hilo. Kaiulani St., on Reed's Island, ends in a cul-de-sac and can be reached only over an antique wooden bridge.

Payment & Cancellation Policies

Rates are based on single or double occupancy. Rates and charges may change without notice. All rates are subject to the Hawaii Hotel Tax ( 7.25%) and a General Excise Tax (4.166%). Reservations may be secured by VISA, MasterCard. No amount is debited to the card until check-out. Cancellations received at least two weeks prior to your check-in date will result in no charge to your credit card. However, cancellations received less than two weeks prior are subject to an amount equal to one night's booking. Check-in time is 2pm or later, check-out time is by 11 am. If your arrival time is later than 7pm, please contact us.
