Kalopa Homestead is just high enough on Mauna Kea for those fabulous cool evenings our guests rave about. We like the tranquility here; we think you will too.
We have macadamia nuts and bananas growing at the door and an ocean view through the magnificent eucalyptus trees. The spacious kitchen and living room with its charming bay window overlook a tropical garden with a small fish pond.
Kalopa State Park with its rainforest trails of endangered species and birds galore, the quaint town of Honokaa with it's curio and antique shops are just minutes away. The quiet splendor of Waipio Valley and the cattle country of Waimea with its shopping and dining, are but a short drive. There is much to see along this gorgeous coast and because of our central location Kona, Hilo and even Volcano are just pleasant round-day-trips away. Aloha, Miles and Colette

| Location: | Kalopa, 1700 foot elevation, centrally located between Hilo and Kona on the Hamakua coast. | ||
| Facilities: | Private phone, 1.5 baths, double size whirlpool tub/shower, TV/VCR,
full size washer & dryer, a wood stove and a fully equipped kitchen
with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, stove, full size refrigerator, a
rice cooker and all the cooking utensils and pots and pans you might need
to dine in. There are chaise lounges on the lawn for sunning as well as an
ice chest for packing lunches for picnics at the beach or on the drive to
Volcano. We also provide you with a hibachi for local style cookouts.
Our guest house is non smoking, however we have a covered sitting area outside for those who do smoke. |

Delivered fresh nightly for you to savor at your leisure on your own time: a generous platter of baked goods from a local bakery. We also offer discounted rates for our LO CARB "lighter fare" We can also provide rice, tsukemono and green tea instead. | ||
| Payment & Cancellation Policy: | We accept cash, travelers, personal or business checks or M/C and VISA. Refund in full (minus $25.00 booking fee) with 31 days advance notice. With less than 30 days notice refund only if we are able to re book the reservation. Reservations for more than 10 nights, Christmas season, Merrie Monarch and other major holidays refund with 60 days notice. | ||
