The Essentials

The Essence

Property: A plantation style home with addition located in a 2-acre tropical garden.   Welcome to Hale Makamae Bed & Breakfast: Enjoy yourself on the beautiful East side of the Big Island - the ideal place to take some time out and to get to know the authentic Hawaii.

Hale Makamae is a wonderful place to enjoy a little piece of the old Hawaii. Close by you will find hot ponds, the Lava Tree Park, a green crater lake, beautiful coastal parks, black sand beaches and snorkeling areas, old & new lava flows, steam vents, the Volcano National Park and much more.

We feel blessed to be able to live in an area as beautiful and peaceful as this.

Besides English, we also speak German. Petra is originally from Germany and John has lived there for several years. Both of us have traveled to many countries.
